Getting In

To get to Bansko, the starting point for almost everyone is Sofia, Bulgaria's capital, since Bansko has no airport of its own. Thanks to the E-79 highway expansion, the journey from Sofia Airport now runs largely on first-class roads, with a typical travel time of around two hours outside rush hour. Travelers can choose between shared shuttles, private transfers, public buses, or renting a car - each with its own trade-offs in price, flexibility, and hassle.
